Carbon Poker Offers Fold and Show
Carbon Poker is one of the few online poker sites offering players the option to fold and show one card in the same spots such a play would be available in live games. This of course is only available when a player’s action ends the betting round. The obvious example is in a heads up situation where a fold will award the pot to an opponent. Here a player can flash any number of his hole cards at his opponent when folding. Additionally, the winner of uncontested pots also has the option to reveal one or more cards if they choose.
Carbon Poker has other features on top of fold and show which are designed to give their software a home game or high stakes type feel. These other features include the ability to run it twice and the ability to rabbit hunt.

When to Show Hole Cards in Holdem
Over the years I’ve read a fair number of poker books where it was advised never to show your hole cards. This is of course good advice to a beginner, but look later at successful players such as Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, and Super Stars phenom Chris Moneymaker, and you’ll see many of these players often do show their cards. This is part of what’s called the Meta game. These players show their cards because it is information they feel will benefit their game later. Players are conscious of what they’ve shown and it can give them an advantage.
In deciding your own strategy on when to show cards, you should consider what type of player you are. If you’re a losing player it probably doesn’t matter a lot if you show your cards or not, but perhaps not showing them will result in it taking longer for players to get a read on you, and it will help reduce your losses. Assuming you’re a winning player, then you’ll need to figure out why it is you’re winning. Are you winning because you have a mathematical fundamental approach to the game. If so, then showing your cards would not be wise. If you’re winning because you consider yourself an expert at the meta game and getting inside players heads and thinking on multiple levels (Translation: You’re a thinking player) well then there might be times it is correct to fold and show.
Fold and Show Online
You know your situation better than we do. We won’t discuss any further about whether or not you should show cards; we’ll only tell you that if you want the option to show cards more often, including folding and showing one card, this feature is available at www.carbonpoker.com.
