Carbon Poker Rake Policy
Carbon Poker, as with all online poker sites, makes their money by taking a small percentage from each pot. This is called rake. The following Carbon Poker rake structure applies to real money ring games.
Limit Poker Games
In limit poker games, the Carbon Poker rake is 1 cent for every 20 cents in the pot. With stakes up to $1/$2 the maximum rake taken from a pot is $1.00. In games with stakes $2/$4 the maximum rake is determined by the number of players in the hand. Tables with 2-3 players, the Carbon Poker maximum rake is $1.00, with 4-5 players it is $2.00 and with 6-10 player it is $3.00.
No Limit and Pot Limit Games
The Carbon Poker rake in pot limit and no limit games is 1 cent for every 20 cents in the pot. The maximum taken is $1.00 when 2-3 handed, $2.00 when 4-5 handed and $3.00 when six or more players are at the table.
No Flop No Drop
Carbon Poker has a policy of “No Flop, No Drop” meaning if a flop has not been seen, the pot is not raked.
Carbon Poker Tournament Rake
The Carbon Poker entry fees for tournaments, which is another form of rake, ranges from 4.5%- to 10% depending on the stakes and structure. The typical heads up match has a rake of 5% with the higher limit games discounted to 4.5%. In six max and full ring SNGs the rake ranges from 8% to 10%. In Multi Table Tournaments the rake is 10% standard with some of the higher limit games having 9 percent rake.
Carbon Poker Rake Summary
The Carbon Poker rake policy is a bit more aggressive than other online poker sites; however, when you consider their impressive bonus offers, VIP program and loyalty bonuses, it becomes clear they do give a large percentage of this rake back to their players.
Carbon Poker Backgammon Rake
The one other place rake comes into play is Backgammon games. In these games, the rake is 3 percent with an impressive $1.00 maximum. Traditionally, skill game websites have raked as much as 10 percent. Outside of Carbon Poker, backgammon rake of less than 5 percent is virtually unheard of.
