Carbon Poker Backgammon Online
Carbon Poker is primarily an online poker site, but they do offer other games such as blackjack, roulette, Caribbean stud, video poker, backgammon and euchre. The backgammon games at Carbon Poker are perhaps the best kept secret in online backgammon going today. If you’ve played much backgammon online, you’re likely familiar with the fact most of the big online backgammon rooms are loaded with bots and cheats that use perfect play. These bots are tough to beat, and even if you’re a master of backgammon, it will be very difficult to beat the rake.
Fair Games
Carbon Poker is a site most of the backgammon cheats don’t know about or for whatever reason don’t care about. Here you’ll find a lot of fish making the cross over from online poker to Backgammon. Even the regulars at Carbon Poker backgammon can be beaten. This is coming from personal experience. Against an average field I’m only a high 1500 rated player, yet haven’t had much problem at Carbon beating those ranked in the high 1700 to low 1800 rating tiers.
Low Rake
In addition to the games being softer than most online Backgammon sites, the Carbon Poker backgammon rake is as competive as it gets at only a measly 3%. Compare this to the 5-9% charged by other online backgammon sites, and you’ll see soon why the window for profit potential at Carbon Poker backgammon is greater than it is in typical backgammon games.
More about Backgammon
If you’re not familiar with backgammon, this is a two-player game using a checker board and checkers called pips. Players take turns rolling the dice and can move pips across the board relative to their rolls. When a player has two or more pips on top of each other, he is protected. When he has a single pip on a position of the board, this is called a blot. If another player lands on the blot, the player’s pip will be sent to the rail. The rail requires a player to roll back into their own home before they can continue playing. The object of backgammon is to get all of your pieces into the opponents home section of the board and then roll them out of play.
Backgammon game is far more sophisticated than checkers yet has been around since approximately 3000 B.C.
